Hung out after their Portland show one night and met all 3. Totally personable and talkative, even after putting on an amazing performance! I got to tell them they were my 11 year olds favorite band, and got a kiss on the cheek from Dug :) We've been fans since the beginning, and always will be.

I realized just how down to earth they were on that drive. After that I have been able to hang out after the show where they always take time for their fans.

I've only met Doug. I went to see them about two years ago with my good buddy Plunder, and after the club had mostly cleared out, Doug returned to te stage to help pack up his gear. We went up to chat with him a bit. I told him that Summerland had saved my life many years ago and he smiled. He took a liking to Plunder, and even invited us back tothe bus, but we had a ong drive home and it was a weeknight.

So last year, Plunder and I went to see them again, and got a spot right up front in front of Doug. He recognized us, I have no idea how, but he kept giving us winks and stuff. near the end of the set they played Summerland, at the end of which, Doug reached down and placed his pick into my outstretched hand.

Cool guy.
